Update on My Book

By | October 20, 2019

Over the past couple of months, one thing became very clear: Writing a book is super hard. 🙂

Initially, I planned to release the book in early September, before this year’s Mains. But as I hurried to finish it, I realized I might be compromising on quality (which goes against the whole purpose of writing this book). Therefore, I have now come to accept that if I want to give my best to this effort, I will have to be patient and invest time into it.

Since I want to make this book as relatable as possible, I am trying to address most of the queries that aspirants have. To that end, I am searching for good examples, do’s and don’ts, and nuances that are otherwise not readily apparent. With my district training and some personal commitments, I have not been able to find much time. Hopefully, things should get a little easy in the next few days. I will try to squeeze in whatever little time I can get to make progress with the book.

“Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout with some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.” ― George Orwell

I am also recording videos for the benefit of those who are more inclined to watch and learn. These videos will be made available along with the book.

Due to the elaborate nature of chapters and the videos, it might take me another month to complete the book. Before the final release, I will release a few chapters so that you can make an informed decision to buy the book. I want you to buy it only when you are convinced that it’s of value to you.

So as I work on my book, I request for your time, faith and patience. I will not disappoint you.

As always, your feedback is appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of suggestions that you sent my way the last time I asked. I am incorporating most of them in the book. I may not reply to you individually, but I read every mail sent to me.

Do continue to write to me.

    Dear Sir,
I along with many aspirants am eagerly waiting for your wonderful and sapiential book. I know sir that it’s very difficult for you to get extra time from your daily busy and grueling schedule. I would only pray Almighty to make you complete this task. I am sorry to say that I am getting selfish while praying this because at the end of the day you have to put extra efforts for this task. I pray and hope that soon your didactic book will enlighten us and guide us.
    Your wellwisher
    Manoj
